Medical Front Office Procedures (MFO)

This course is intended for students interested in becoming a Medical Front Office/Medical Receptionist, sometimes referred to as the Intake Coordinator. This class will ensure students are prepared to begin a rewarding career and to become an integral part of the medical office team.  Topics covered include; Basic Medical Terms and Plans, Eligibility and Insurance Benefits Verification, Appointment Scheduling (Manual and Computerized), Improving Telephone Skills, Patient Arrival, Check-in and Departure, Handling Medical/Office Forms, HIPAA/Patient Privacy & Confidentiality and Medical Terminology (specific to the front office). 
 
Upon completing the Medical Front Office Procedures class, students will receive a certificate and be added to the instructor’s database for potential job leads. 

Class meeting online at a specific time. You must attend at your computer, viewing the class. Please include your name as it appears in our registration system as your name on ZOOM.  You must attend both class AND an Orientation.

Cost:
25.00 for registration (due at time of registration with Community Education) 
99.00 materials fee (During Orientation, you will pay your materials fee.)
